Summary of  Position 

Beginning the engineering process on a raw digital sculpt can feel like dumping out a 1000 piece puzzle onto the table, but success follows a similar path—form a strategy and execute one piece at a time. The technical aspects of cutting, keying, and preparing models for 3D print requires intense problem-solving and ingenuity.

This position is responsible for finalizing, sizing and approving digital sculpts, preparing sculpts for rapid prototyping and parting, and delivering final files to the in house production team. You will be expected to deliver industry leading digital engineering and 3D printed parts with an immense attention to detail. 

To successfully tackle the challenges you will face with every project, you will need the following:


Must Have Skills

  • Basic technical proficiency in ZBrush
  • Able to perform corrective sculpting while matching a variety of aesthetics
  • Logical thinking and planning skills
  • Understanding of how details on a digital model will translate to a 3D printed object at scale
  • Experience with 3D printing, and preparing models for 3D printing
  • Provable experience digitally cutting and keying models into multiple parts with complex interactions for the purpose of output to 3D printing
  • Basic communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of people across multiple teams, including designers and production managers
  • Ability to take direction and direct critique from Team lead, Art director, paint, and production.
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects and milestones.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline driven environment.
  • A positive attitude with a dash of gallows humor


Nice to have skills: 

  • Experience making undercut corrections for production molds
  • Experience with material tolerances 
  • Experience with other 3D modeling/CAD software packages such as MAYA, Blender, 3DS Max, and/or Magics etc.
  • Familiar with the miniatures or collectibles industry 
  • Familiarity with a variety of production processes: 3D printing, post production, mold making and painting. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the many different IPs we work on
  • A desire or drive to learn about wargaming, tabletop miniatures, and collectables.

  • Ability for full-time work onsite at Broken Anvil HQ in Auburn, Washington
  • You should be willing to complete a test if requested to do so (paid of course!)

Pay is DOE but minimum starting wage is $21 per hour. Medical Insurance is provided. Free product perks and much more!
